TECHNIQUE

We welcome ALL skill levels and teach proper boxing technique along with boxing exercises and self-defence. Sparring is optional and we do have access to a boxing ring.

Beginners are taken aside and taught the basics of stance, movement and how to throw a punch on the first Tuesday and Thursday of every month.

We recommend the purchasing of hand-wraps for your own protection which can be bought at training for $10. If you want to spar you must purchase a mouth-guard and be a member of the club.

UQ BOXING

CLUB HISTORY

The UQ Boxing Club, located on the University of Queensland’s St Lucia Campus, provides a safe and friendly learning environment for anyone wishing to learn the sport of boxing. We are run as a not-for-profit Club by volunteers who believe in affordable training for students and the wider community. It caters to ALL skill levels, from fitness or self-defence to amateur AIBA competition. Training sessions are taught in an engaging manner with varied activities and also allowed independence. In addition to training, the club has a lively social scene with the annual dinner being the highlight of the year.
